Dungarpur, Rajasthan: A routine district development review meeting turned into a tense showdown on Monday as BJP and BAP leaders engaged in a heated verbal confrontation, leaving the political atmosphere in Dungarpur charged with tension. The clash involved MPs from both parties and escalated to a point where administrative officers and security personnel had to intervene.

Dispute Erupts Over Agenda
The meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA), held at the EDP Hall of the District Council, saw the first sparks of conflict when BAP MP Rajkumar Roat from Banswara raised state government issues outside the scheduled agenda. Udaipur’s BJP MP Mannalal Rawat objected, emphasizing that DISHA meetings are meant to review central government schemes. This disagreement quickly escalated into a sharp verbal exchange between the two MPs.

MPs Engage in Heated Exchange
Roat asserted that as the meeting chair, he could bring up any issue of public interest and accused Rawat of attempting to derail the proceedings and showing disinterest in district development. Rawat responded forcefully, and the debate intensified into a full-blown “tu-tu, main-main” confrontation.

MLA Intervenes, Situation Escalates Further
During the altercation, BAP MLA Umesh Damor from Aaspur intervened. The confrontation between Damor and Rawat quickly became heated, with Damor provocatively stating that if anyone wanted to fight, they should do so openly in the field. This remark further escalated tensions, creating a chaotic scene in the hall.

15 Minutes of Drama Disrupt the Meeting
The entire episode lasted for approximately 15 minutes, temporarily disrupting the meeting. Security personnel stepped in to control the situation, while administrative officers counseled both sides. After substantial efforts, calm was restored, and the meeting resumed its proceedings.
