Jabalpur, MP: In a frightening incident early Friday morning, a high-speed SUV lost control and collided with an electric pole in the Bilhari area of Gora Bazar, Jabalpur. The impact was so severe that the pole snapped, cutting power to the entire neighborhood. Fortunately, the vehicle’s airbags deployed, saving the driver’s life, though he fled the scene immediately.
CCTV footage of the incident shows the SUV speeding uncontrollably before veering off course and crashing into the pole. The front of the vehicle was badly damaged, indicating the force of the collision. The accident occurred around 5 a.m., drawing local residents out of their homes in alarm.
Officials confirmed that the SUV has been impounded and a search is underway to locate the driver. A detailed investigation is being conducted to determine the exact cause of the accident.
Residents of Bilhari highlighted that the stretch of road has been a hotspot for accidents due to reckless driving. They urged authorities to implement stricter speed monitoring and install speed breakers to prevent future incidents.
