High-Pressure Boring Explosion Floods Bilaspur Home, Family Escapes Death by Inches

A sudden surge of muddy water erupted inside a Bilaspur home after an old underground borewell burst, triggered by high-pressure boring at a nearby vacant plot. The incident, which took place in Gokuldham area of Uslapur on the night of January 29 around 8:30 PM, left tiles shattered and a courtyard submerged, but fortunately, the family escaped unharmed.

Borewell Blast Caused Chaos
The victim, Vishal Sharma, narrowly avoided disaster as water gushed out with immense force due to the high-pressure boring conducted next door. Children were at home during the incident, but miraculously, no one was injured. Residents described the scene as terrifying, with water blasting through floors and walls within seconds.

Allegations of Unauthorized and Unsafe Boring
Local residents allege that the high-pressure borewell was being operated without proper permissions and ignored safety standards. Following the incident, Sharma’s family informed the authorities, but immediate action was reportedly lacking. The event has sparked outrage in the neighborhood, with calls for strict inspections and mandatory approvals before any borewell operations in residential areas.

The entire explosion was captured on the CCTV installed in the Sharma residence, showing a sudden, violent burst of water. The footage, widely shared online, has heightened local fears and strengthened demands for stricter safety regulations in urban residential zones.
