Heart and Lungs Missing in Post-mortem: Mutilated Body Found on Mahoba Hill Sparks Murder Suspicion

Mahoba: Panic spread across the Kabrai stone market area after a severely mutilated body was discovered on the Gangamai hill on Thursday. The deceased had deep head injuries, and parts of the body were missing. A post-mortem examination revealed that the heart and lungs were not found inside the chest cavity, prompting strong suspicion of homicide.

The victim was identified as Sundar Saini (48), a resident of Shastri Nagar in Kabrai, who earned his livelihood by making and selling flower garlands. According to his son Krishnakant, Saini left home on Wednesday evening to deliver flower garlands but never returned. When attempts to trace him failed, the family lodged a missing report at the local police station.

Villagers Suspect Animal Attack, Family Alleges Murder

Villagers claimed that wild animals such as jackals and stray dogs often roam the hill area. They believe Saini may have fallen unconscious after slipping and hitting his head, following which animals might have scavenged the body.
However, the victim’s son strongly disagreed with this theory and demanded a full investigation, citing the missing organs and nature of injuries as evidence of foul play.

Post-mortem Raises Serious Questions

Dr. Pankaj Rajput, who conducted the autopsy, confirmed head injuries and missing body parts, along with the absence of both lungs and the heart. This unusual finding has intensified suspicions and raised serious questions about the cause of death.

Police Begin Probe; No Clear Conclusion Yet

Station in-charge Satvendra Singh Bhadoria said that a thorough investigation is underway. He added that the deceased reportedly suffered from mental distress and may have ventured to the hill at night, where he could have slipped, lost consciousness, and become a target for wild animals.

The police are examining all angles—including accident, animal attack, and possible murder—while awaiting further forensic inputs.
