Headline:“I Was Forced, Not Broken”: Bhanvi Singh Welcomes Supreme Court Order in Raja Bhaiya Domestic Violence Case

Pratapgarh (Uttar Pradesh):
In a significant development in the long-running domestic violence case involving Kunda विधायक and Jansatta Party Loktantrik chief Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya, his wife Bhanvi Singh on Monday described the Supreme Court’s latest order as a decision “in her favour” and reaffirmed her resolve to continue her fight for justice.

The Supreme Court has directed the Delhi High Court to decide, within four months, the petition related to the stay on summons issued by a trial court against Raja Bhaiya. The trial court had earlier taken cognisance of a domestic violence complaint filed by Bhanvi Singh and summoned the Kunda MLA. Raja Bhaiya subsequently approached the Delhi High Court, which stayed the summons. The apex court has now asked the High Court to expedite the matter.

Speaking to the media after the Supreme Court’s order, Bhanvi Singh said, “I am not broken. I was forced into taking this step to fight for my rights. I believe this order has come in my favour, and I trust that justice will prevail.”

Allegations of Abuse and Coercion
Bhanvi Singh reiterated her allegations of prolonged physical and mental abuse by her husband. She said that after her marriage, she was compelled to follow the purdah system and later faced humiliation for not bearing a son. “I was told that because I could not give birth to a son, my husband would have to marry again,” she said.

She further claimed that even after undergoing medical treatment in Mumbai and later giving birth to two sons to carry forward the family lineage, she did not receive respect within the household.

Claims of Domestic Violence and Property Misuse
Making serious आरोप, Bhanvi Singh alleged that she faced severe domestic violence when she objected to other women entering the house. “We were denied even basic medical treatment. There are many women like me who silently endure such suffering and cannot speak up,” she said.

She also accused her husband and his associates of forcibly transferring property in the names of servants, drivers, cooks, and unknown individuals by obtaining her forged signatures. According to her, a divorce case was later filed against her, and several false allegations were levelled.

Multiple FIRs and Ongoing Divorce Proceedings
Bhanvi Singh said that false charge-sheets and FIRs were filed against her in Delhi, Lucknow, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh. “Despite all this, I am not broken. I have full faith that I will get justice,” she said with emotion.

She added that Raja Bhaiya has filed for divorce and is currently living with another woman, a situation that has also caused distress to her mother-in-law. “The Supreme Court’s order gives me hope. I believe the truth will come out,” she said.

The case remains pending, with the Delhi High Court now expected to deliver a decision on the stay of summons within the timeframe set by the Supreme Court.
