‘He Gambles Away My Earnings, Beats Me’: Iram Levels Serious Allegations Against Husband in Meerut

Meerut, February 2:
A fresh controversy has surfaced involving Meerut-based digital creator Shadab Jakati, widely known for the viral reel “10-rupee biscuit kitne ka hai ji”, after his on-screen co-actor Iram publicly accused her husband Khurshid of domestic violence, financial exploitation and intimidation.

In a video shared on social media, Iram alleged that her husband has been subjecting her to physical and mental abuse and squandering her earnings on gambling and betting over the past eight to nine months. She stated that she has now decided to pursue legal action and approach the court, saying she will no longer remain silent.

Allegations of Domestic Violence and Financial Exploitation

According to Iram, Khurshid is entirely dependent on her income and has repeatedly misused it for gambling activities. She further alleged that he has assaulted her on multiple occasions and threatened her, causing severe mental trauma.

“I have endured violence and false allegations for too long. Now, legal recourse is the only option left,” she said in her statement.

She also accused her husband of attempting to defame her and Shadab Jakati by making baseless claims on social media.

Counter Allegations by Husband

A few days earlier, Khurshid had released his own video alleging that Shadab Jakati keeps Iram with him and that the two often stay away from home for several days. These allegations led to intense social media debate, with accusations and counter-accusations exchanged publicly.

Police on Alert

Police officials confirmed that they have intervened in this dispute multiple times in the past. Complaints were previously lodged but later withdrawn following mutual settlements.

Officials also noted that in several cases, such disputes are amplified on social media for attention and popularity. Given this background, police say they are proceeding cautiously.

“The matter is under investigation. If it is found that police time has been misused merely for gaining publicity, strict action will be taken against all parties involved,” an officer said.

Investigation Ongoing

Authorities have clarified that no final conclusion has been drawn yet and that the investigation is continuing. All allegations remain claims at this stage, pending verification.
