Haryana Crime: Student Steals Gold Brick from Home Under Friends’ Influence, Caught by Father

Sonipat, Haryana: In a shocking incident from Sonipat district, a student stole a gold brick from his own home’s safe. The theft came to light when the father opened the safe and discovered the gold missing. Subsequent investigations revealed that the student had been influenced by friends to commit the theft, making the case a subject of widespread discussion in the locality. The police have been informed and further investigation is underway.

Pressure from Friends and Threats
According to the family, upon being questioned strictly, the student revealed that two local youths had lured him into criminal activity. One of the youths was introduced to him through a family acquaintance. Due to their peer influence, the student befriended them, which eventually led to this act. The accused allegedly pressured the student to steal gold, silver, and cash from his home. When he hesitated, the youths reportedly threatened him with a firearm.

Fear and Mental Stress
Under immense stress and fear, the student removed the gold brick from the safe about a month ago and handed it over to the friends. Police records show that the student lived in constant fear after the theft. At one point, the friends advised him to coat silver biscuits with gold paste to cover up the shortage in the safe. However, before this plan could be executed, on 15 November, the father checked the safe and discovered the truth.

Police Investigation
Sector-27 police station in-charge, Savit Kumar, confirmed the case of gold theft from the home and stated that the investigation is ongoing. The father has also shared recorded conversations with the police, which reveal that the accused youths panicked and promised to return the money once they realized the matter had reached law enforcement.

This incident highlights the dangers of peer pressure and the importance of parental vigilance in safeguarding valuables.
