
Fatehabad, Haryana: In a shocking incident near the village of Saniyana in Fatehabad district, a group of armed men attacked a bus driver with swords and sticks after a dispute over giving way. The situation could have turned fatal, but women passengers onboard displayed remarkable bravery, shielding the driver and saving his life.
Attack on a Passenger Bus
According to eyewitnesses, a privately hired bus carrying passengers from Tohana to Hisar was returning after a community gathering. As the bus approached Sahu village, a wedding procession with loud DJ music had blocked the road, causing a traffic jam.
Bus driver Mela Singh, a resident of Fatehpuria village, stated that a car behind him continuously honked, demanding side. He explained to the driver of that vehicle that the road ahead was blocked. Once the jam cleared, he allowed the car to pass, but the other driver allegedly argued with him even after that.
Ambushed Near Saniyana
The real shock came when the bus reached near Saniyana. Around 30 to 35 men armed with swords and sticks surrounded the vehicle and stormed inside. They allegedly hurled abuses and began assaulting the driver.
Mela Singh said he would have been killed had the women passengers not jumped forward to shield him. The attackers also manhandled several passengers.
Villagers Intervene, Police Complaint Filed
As the chaos unfolded, villagers rushed to the spot and helped escort all passengers to safety.
A formal complaint has been filed at the Bhuna Police Station, and police have begun investigating the matter.
