New Delhi:
Indian women’s cricket captain Harmanpreet Kaur is set to be immortalized in wax, joining the ranks of legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and MS Dhoni. This honor comes after she led India to its first-ever Women’s World Cup title on 2nd November 2025, when the team defeated South Africa in the final at DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai.
Wax Statue in Jaipur
Harmanpreet Kaur’s wax figure will be installed at the Jaipur Wax Museum inside the Sheesh Mahal of Nahargarh Fort. The unveiling is scheduled for 8th March 2026, coinciding with International Women’s Day, celebrating her historic World Cup victory and women empowerment in sports.
Museum founder Anup Srivastava stated that the decision goes beyond commemorating a trophy win. According to him, Harmanpreet represents courage, discipline, and the belief that Indian women can lead on the global stage. He emphasized that the museum aims not only to showcase celebrities but to honor those who inspire society.
Joining Cricketing Icons
With Harmanpreet Kaur’s statue, the museum will now house two World Cup-winning Indian captains — MS Dhoni and Harmanpreet Kaur. Alongside them, statues of Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli are already on display.
Officials have confirmed that work on Harmanpreet’s statue has already begun. The sculptors are basing the figure on her 2025 World Cup appearance, capturing her on-field stance, facial expressions, and the intensity of the game using advanced techniques to ensure realism.
This tribute not only celebrates India’s sporting achievement but also inspires future generations of female athletes to dream big and lead with confidence.
