Amid ongoing controversies over government bungalow allocations in Bihar, celebrated folk singer and BJP MLA Maithili Thakur has been allotted a new official residence in the state capital, Patna. Her name appeared in the latest list released by the Assembly Secretariat, sparking excitement among her supporters.
Expresses Joy on Social Media
After receiving the allotment, the Darbhanga Alinagar MLA shared a picture of her new residence on social media, writing: “The journey begins… Har Har Mahadev.”
She described the new house as a fresh beginning and a reminder of her responsibilities as a public representative. Already a household name due to her music, Maithili Thakur’s popularity has grown further since her entry into active politics.
Her accommodation in Patna is expected to make it easier for her to fulfill her legislative duties, marking a significant milestone in her political journey.
Supporters Flood Social Media with Wishes
Messages of congratulations poured in online soon after the news broke. Some supporters recalled her campaign promises, including the proposal to rename Alinagar as Sitanagar in honor of Goddess Janaki. One user humorously requested that her next picture from the bungalow should feature “Sitanagar” written outside—reflecting her voters’ expectations from her tenure.
Allotment Amid Political Discussions
The allotment comes at a time when Bihar politics is buzzing over other high-profile housing issues, including those involving former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, who was shifted from 10 Circular Road to 39 Harding Road, and Mokama MLA Anant Singh.
In the midst of these controversies, Maithili Thakur’s allotment has emerged as a positive development, with her supporters viewing it as recognition of her rising prominence in state politics. They hope she will continue to remain active and committed to the development of her constituency.
