Hapur: Woman Brutally Assaulted After Being Exploited for a Year on False Promise of Marriage

Hapur (Uttar Pradesh): A shocking case of betrayal and violence has emerged from Hapur district, where a young woman alleged that she was sexually exploited for nearly a year by her lover on the false promise of marriage. The accused reportedly assaulted her brutally after she became pregnant and resisted his attempts to destroy evidence.

According to the victim, the आरोपी (accused) called her to his shop under the pretext of showing her certain proof. Once she reached there, he forcefully tried to snatch her mobile phone in order to delete photos and videos that could expose him. When she objected, he allegedly attacked her mercilessly, leaving her seriously injured.

The woman’s family immediately rushed her to the Dhaulana Community Health Centre, but due to her critical condition, doctors referred her to Meerut Medical College for advanced treatment.

Victim Four Months Pregnant

The victim stated that the accused had been maintaining physical relations with her for the past one year by continuously assuring her of marriage. As a result, she is now four months pregnant.

She further alleged that her marriage had earlier been fixed with another person, but the accused intentionally defamed her and ruined the proposal. After that, he allegedly kept her under pressure and threats, forcing her to continue the relationship.

The woman also claimed that the accused had made obscene photos and videos of her, which he used to blackmail and control her.

Called to Shop and Attacked

The victim said that in recent days, the accused began threatening her using the obscene videos and photographs. When she protested, he asked her to come to his shop, claiming he would show her the material. However, upon her arrival, he forcefully grabbed her phone and later assaulted her violently during the confrontation.

Police Investigation Underway

Commenting on the incident, Station House Officer Avneesh Sharma stated that the matter related to assault and robbery has come to notice. The victim has undergone a medical examination, and based on her written complaint, police have initiated an investigation.

He added that CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined to verify the incident and establish the accused’s role clearly.

The incident has raised serious concerns about crimes involving false promises of marriage, exploitation, and violence against women. Police officials assured that strict action will be taken once the investigation is completed.
