
Hapur (Uttar Pradesh): In view of the Mahashivratri festival and the Kanwar Yatra, the Hapur police have announced a four-day traffic diversion plan on National Highway-9 (NH-9) to ensure smooth movement of devotees and maintain public safety.
As per the advisory, traffic diversion will remain in force from 12:00 noon on February 13 till 4:00 pm on February 16. During this period, heavy vehicles such as trucks, canters, tractors and other goods and passenger carriers will not be allowed to enter NH-9 in the Hapur region.
Superintendent of Police Kunwar Gyananjay Singh said that during Mahashivratri, a large number of devotees from various states arrive in the Garh area for holy bathing in the Ganga and to collect Gangajal for the Kanwar pilgrimage. Considering the huge crowd and to avoid congestion, strict traffic regulations have been enforced.
Heavy vehicles will be diverted from Hapur Mod towards alternative routes.
Alternative Route for Heavy Vehicles From Delhi to Moradabad and Bareilly
Heavy vehicles travelling from Delhi to Moradabad and Bareilly will be redirected via:
Lalkuan Sikandrabad Dasna Peripheral Expressway Dadri GT Road,
then onwards through Sikandrabad, Bulandshahr, Narora, Babrala, Bahjoi, Dibai and Chandausi to reach Moradabad.
Additionally, vehicles may be sent back by taking a U-turn at Chhijarsi Toll Plaza from Dasna.
Route for Heavy Vehicles Heading Towards Meerut and Uttarakhand
All heavy vehicles going towards Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Haridwar and Dehradun will follow the route:
Chhijarsi Toll Plaza Nizampur Flyover Sena Pump Flyover Tatarpur Chauraha Tiyala Underpass Kithaur,
and then proceed to their respective destinations.
Meerut to Moradabad Diversion Route
Vehicles travelling from Meerut to Moradabad will be diverted through:
Savana Road Mirapur Barrage Bijnor Kotwali Dehat Nagina Dhampur Kanth Chhajlet,
finally reaching Moradabad.
Moradabad/Uttarakhand to Delhi-Ghaziabad Route
Vehicles coming from Moradabad towards Delhi and Ghaziabad will follow:
Chhajlet Kanth Dhampur Nagina Bijnor Mirapur Barrage Mawana Parikshitgarh Kithaur Tiyala Underpass Tatarpur Chauraha Sona Flyover Nizampur Flyover Chhijarsi Toll Plaza,
then proceed to Delhi-Ghaziabad.
Gajraula to Delhi-Ghaziabad Route
Traffic from Gajraula Chopla to Delhi-Ghaziabad will move via:
Garhi Dhanora Chandpur Haldor Bijnor Mirapur Barrage Mawana Parikshitgarh Kithaur Tiyala Underpass Tatarpur Chauraha Sona Flyover Nizampur Flyover.
Alternatively, vehicles may also travel from Moradabad via Narora, Dibai, Bulandshahr and Sikandrabad to reach Delhi-Ghaziabad.
Meerut to Delhi-Ghaziabad Route
Vehicles coming from Meerut towards Delhi-Ghaziabad will be directed through:
Tiyala Tatarpur Chauraha Sona Flyover – Nizampur Flyover – Chhijarsi Toll Plaza.
Special Arrangements for Light Vehicles
The advisory states that light vehicles will be allowed to enter up to Hapur, where they will be parked at designated parking locations.
Light vehicles travelling from Delhi-Ghaziabad to Moradabad and Bareilly will take the route:
Dasna – Peripheral Expressway – Dadri GT Road – Sikandrabad – Dibai – Chandausi.
Similarly, light vehicles heading from NCR towards Meerut and Uttarakhand will follow:
Chhijarsi Toll Plaza – Nizampur Flyover – Tatarpur Chauraha – Tiyala Underpass – Meerut-Kithaur route.
The same alternative routes will apply for light vehicles travelling from Meerut to Moradabad, Moradabad to Delhi, and Gajraula to Delhi.
Police Appeal to the Public
The police administration has urged devotees and travellers to check the traffic advisory before starting their journey and use alternative routes to avoid congestion and inconvenience during the four-day restriction period.
