Hapur, UP: The escalating monkey menace in Hapur has turned violent, with a wild troop attacking a young man in Pilkhuwa on Sunday. The horrifying incident was captured on a nearby CCTV camera, leaving local residents in a state of panic.
Attack Caught on Camera
According to reports, the youth, residing in a densely populated lane in Pilkhuwa, stepped out of his house to buy some household items. Within moments, a group of monkeys, roaming the street and perched on nearby walls, surrounded him. CCTV footage clearly shows the monkeys lunging at the young man before he could react.
The youth’s cries drew the attention of local residents, who rushed with sticks and managed to chase the monkeys away. Fortunately, the victim escaped without any injuries.
Growing Fear Among Residents
This incident has once again highlighted the negligence of the municipal and forest authorities. Locals claim this is not the first such attack; the monkeys have previously targeted residents, including children and women, causing injuries. Fear has escalated to the extent that parents are hesitant to send children alone to tuition or outside.
Despite repeated complaints, residents allege that authorities remain inactive, seemingly waiting for a major accident to occur before taking action. The Pilkhuwa community continues to demand urgent measures to control the wild monkeys and ensure public safety.
