Hapur: In a shocking incident at the Dhaulana Tehsil complex on Friday, a young man named Rohit Kumar climbed atop a water tank, creating a panic among onlookers. The unusual act drew an immediate crowd, and the police, responding swiftly, managed to bring him down safely and take him into custody.
According to police sources, Rohit, a resident of Kheda, was mentally distressed over a family dispute concerning the cost of medical treatment for a leg fracture. He revealed that after his recent injury, his family had paid substantial money for his treatment, but were now demanding repayment, leaving him deeply troubled.
The incident unfolded in the morning when Rohit scaled the water tank at the tehsil complex, triggering a commotion. People gathered below as news of the drama spread quickly. Authorities were alerted, and police officers reached the spot promptly, ensuring the safety of both the youth and the public.
Police Statement: Dhaulana Station Officer Manish Kumar Chauhan confirmed that the youth had been taken into custody. During preliminary questioning, Rohit appeared to be under the influence of intoxicants. His family has been informed about the incident. Legal action will also be initiated against him for creating a high-risk situation by climbing the water tank.
