Indore, 18 November 2025: The Indore Police have arrested Hamood Siddiqui, brother of Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui, owner of Al Falah University, from Hyderabad. Hamood, wanted in fraud cases and the Mhow riots of 1988–1989, had been on the run for 25 years. During police interrogation, he claimed he has no contact with his brother Jawad.
Fugitive for 25 Years
Rural SP Yogchen Dolkar Bhutia stated that Siddiqui, aged 50, was apprehended following precise location intelligence. The accused had been evading law enforcement since early 2000, when multiple FIRs were filed against him, including charges under Section 420 for fraud.
Financial Investigations Underway
Authorities are examining Siddiqui’s financial dealings and any potential links to terrorist funding. SP Bhutia said that Siddiqui invested in land in Mhow and ran a company in Hyderabad during his time in hiding. “Until we receive direct statements from Siddiqui, we cannot comment on possible terror links,” the SP clarified.
Al Falah University Under Investigation
Following the Delhi blast, investigators traced potential links to a white-collar terror module connected to Al Falah University. Several university lecturers were taken into custody for questioning, prompting authorities to re-examine the backgrounds of the university’s key personnel. The inquiry intensified after it was discovered that Jawad Siddiqui originally hails from Mhow.

Siddiqui comes from a large family; his father had three wives and over sixteen children. Authorities confirmed he owns no property in Mhow. Siddiqui stated that he has no contact with his brother Jawad, and the police continue to examine all historical case records along with new leads.
