Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh):
In a swift and commendable operation, Gwalior police have arrested three accused involved in a daylight firing incident at Murar Sarafa Bazaar. The arrests came within 48 hours of the incident, marking a major breakthrough in the case. Two other gang members had been apprehended earlier.
Incident Details:
The attack occurred on Monday afternoon when masked bikers opened fire at Uday Jewelers, targeting the owner Mahaveer Jain and his son Akash Jain. While Akash survived, a visiting confectioner from Agra was injured during the firing. The assailants fled after firing for nearly 15 minutes.
Police investigations revealed that the attack was a retaliatory act by gang members of Kapil Yadav, who had recently been involved in a short encounter with the police and sustained a gunshot injury to his leg during a shootout. Enraged, his associates carried out the daylight attack at Uday Jewelers.
Arrests and Investigation:
The arrested accused include Himanshu Yadav (Jhansi), Arvind Yadav (Gwalior), and Amit Yadav, all linked to Kapil Yadav’s gang. Firearms used in the attack were also recovered. Police have confirmed that Kapil Yadav has over 12 criminal cases registered against him, while his gang members also have a history of criminal activity.
The Gwalior police continue to hunt for the remaining three members of the gang and have intensified questioning of the arrested individuals regarding other criminal activities. Raids were conducted across Bhind, Morena, Datia, Jhansi, and Agra to apprehend the suspects.
Police Statement:
Authorities have assured the public that the gang responsible for spreading fear in the city will face strict legal action, and ongoing investigations will continue to dismantle the entire network.
