She was immediately rushed to a private hospital, where doctors performed surgery to remove the bullet. Her condition remains critical, and police have launched a full investigation.
Incident Details
The officer was discovered on a roadside in Vav Jokha village, Kamrej Taluka, by a passerby who noticed her car parked with the officer inside, unconscious and bleeding. Family members were alerted and rushed her to a local hospital for urgent treatment.
Hospital sources confirmed that initial scans revealed a foreign object in her head, later identified as a bullet. Surgeons successfully removed it, but her recovery is ongoing, and she remains in a serious condition.
Police Investigation
Superintendent of Police, Bhavesh Gadhia, stated that the police are investigating whether the injury was self-inflicted or the result of an attack. Due to the sensitive nature of the case, a forensic team has been deployed to assist in the investigation.
Background: Domestic Dispute
Two days prior, the officer had filed a complaint against her estranged husband, an RTO Inspector, alleging harassment and threats. Authorities are exploring whether this complaint is linked to the attack.
Kamrej Police have registered a case and are collecting evidence from the scene. The department and family are closely monitoring the officer’s condition while the investigation unfolds.
