‘Drishyam’-Like Murder in Ahmedabad: Wife and Lover Killed Husband, Buried Body Under Kitchen Floor, Covered with Tiles — Truth Emerges After 14 Months

Ahmedabad: A bone-chilling crime straight out of a Bollywood thriller has come to light from Gujarat’s Ahmedabad, where a woman and her lover allegedly murdered her husband, chopped his body into pieces, and buried the remains beneath the kitchen floor — sealing it with tiles to erase all traces. Fourteen months later, police have uncovered the horrifying secret that has sent shockwaves across the city.

The deceased, 35-year-old Sameer Ansari, originally from Bihar, had been missing for over a year. On a tip-off, Ahmedabad Crime Branch officers dug up the floor of his locked home in Sarkhej and discovered human bones and other remains buried beneath the kitchen tiles.

According to DCP (Crime) Ajit Rajian, Sameer’s wife Ruby (now absconding) conspired with her alleged lover Imran Vaghela and two of Imran’s relatives — Rahim and Mohsin — to kill him. Police have arrested Imran, while Ruby and the other two accused remain on the run.

The Disappearance

Sameer vanished suddenly 14 months ago, and Ruby told neighbors that he had gone out of town for work. At first, everyone believed her. But when Sameer failed to contact friends or relatives for months, suspicions grew. The Crime Branch quietly began investigating three months ago after receiving information that Sameer’s disappearance was suspicious — his phone had been switched off for over a year.

Lover’s Confession Reveals the Shocking Truth

Ruby’s phone was placed under surveillance, revealing frequent calls to Imran. Acting on this lead, police detained Imran, who during interrogation confessed to the murder and detailed the gruesome crime. He admitted that Ruby had planned the killing after her husband found out about her affair.

On the night of the murder, Ruby held Sameer’s legs while Imran slit his throat. The two then dismembered the body, dug a pit in the kitchen, buried the remains, and sealed the area with cement and floor tiles.

Living Above the Grave

After the murder, Ruby continued living in the same house with her two children for months — right above the buried body. She kept telling neighbors that her husband was working in another city. Eventually, she fled with her children.

A Love Marriage Ends in Horror

Sameer had fallen in love with Ruby years ago and married her against his family’s wishes. The couple moved to Ahmedabad in 2016, where Sameer worked as a mason to support the family.
