
Surat, Gujarat: A shocking incident of violence against a migrant worker has come to light in Surat’s Amroli area, raising serious concerns about the safety of workers in the city. The victim, Sudhir Pandey, originally from Madhya Pradesh, was reportedly attacked at a roadside eatery by a local thug, who also forced him to lick his feet in a display of intimidation.

According to police sources, Sudhir Pandey, employed at a small dhaba in Amroli, was confronted by a man who assaulted him with a knife and humiliated him in front of onlookers. The perpetrator recorded the assault on video and deliberately shared it on social media, showcasing the brutality. In the footage, Pandey can be heard pleading, “Bhola bhai! I will never return to Surat…” while enduring the attack.
The videos reveal multiple acts of aggression, including the assailant pulling Pandey’s hair, striking him repeatedly, and threatening further harm if he did not comply. The perpetrator’s face is clearly visible, wearing a red t-shirt and wielding a knife to intimidate the victim.
Police Response
Authorities in Surat have registered a case and launched an investigation. Police are currently examining the videos, gathering evidence, and identifying witnesses. The accused has been identified, and efforts are underway to apprehend him.
The incident has sparked outrage online, highlighting the vulnerability of migrant workers and the need for stricter enforcement of worker protection laws in Gujarat.
