A chilling crime has rattled Gujarat’s Bhavnagar district, where the bodies of a forest officer’s wife and two children—missing for the past ten days—were recovered from a field near their government quarters. Forest officer Shailesh Khambla, posted as Assistant Conservator of Forests in Bhavnagar, lodged a missing person’s complaint on 7 November, stating that his wife Naina (42), their 13-year-old daughter, and 9-year-old son had disappeared a day earlier.
During the investigation, police noticed suspicious activity around a field adjacent to Khambla’s official quarters. Locals revealed that fresh digging had taken place, and the soil appeared disturbed and refilled.
Digging Leads to Horrifying Discovery
Bhavnagar Superintendent of Police Nitesh Pandey confirmed that the forest officer’s family had come from Surat to stay with him during school holidays. After analyzing technical evidence and speaking to neighbours, the police zeroed in on the suspicious patch of land.
