Gujarat ATS Uncovers ‘Ricin’ Poison-Making Setup at Hyderabad Doctor’s Home — Major Terror Plot Linked to ISKP Foiled

Ahmedabad/Hyderabad | November 12, 2025: In a major breakthrough, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has unearthed a shocking terror plot involving the creation of a deadly chemical poison — ricin. During a raid conducted in Hyderabad, ATS officers recovered chemicals and raw materials used for preparing the lethal toxin from the residence of Dr. Ahmed Mohiuddin Sayed, one of three terror suspects arrested earlier this week.

Dr. Sayed, who reportedly completed his MBBS from China, is believed to have had a detailed understanding of medicine and toxicology. According to ATS sources, he was allegedly experimenting with ricin, a highly toxic compound that can cause death even in minute quantities. Officials claim that the operation could have led to large-scale destruction had it not been intercepted in time.

Part of a Larger ISKP-Linked Network

The ATS believes that Dr. Sayed was working under the guidance of handlers connected to the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP). Along with Dr. Sayed, two other accused — identified as Azad Suleman Sheikh and Mohammad Suhail Mohammad Saleem from Uttar Pradesh — were arrested as part of the same network.

Senior ATS officials revealed that the team seized suspicious chemicals and unprocessed material from Dr. Sayed’s home in Hyderabad’s Rajendranagar area. The confiscated substances have been sent for forensic examination to confirm their composition and potential use in chemical weapon manufacturing.

Link to Delhi Blast Under Scrutiny

Investigators are also probing possible links between the suspects and the recent Delhi car blast, which the central government has now officially classified as a terrorist act under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. However, the ATS clarified that, as of now, no direct connection has been established between Dr. Sayed’s module and the perpetrators of the Delhi incident.

Parallel raids were also conducted at the Uttar Pradesh residences of Sheikh and Saleem, but no objectionable materials were found during those searches.

Averted Catastrophe

Officials emphasized that the discovery of ricin-making components indicates a disturbing escalation in terror tactics, involving biochemical weapon preparation on Indian soil. “Ricin is one of the most dangerous natural poisons known to man — even a few milligrams can be fatal. The recovery of such material is a grave security concern,” an ATS officer stated.

The arrests mark a crucial success for Gujarat ATS in thwarting a potentially devastating terror plot. Further investigations are underway to trace international connections, funding channels, and the extent of the planned attack.
