The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has scored a major success by arresting two individuals, including a woman and a former Indian Army Subedar, for allegedly sharing sensitive information with Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI. According to ATS officials, the duo was reportedly involved in espionage activities targeting critical locations.
Details of the Arrest
The female suspect, Rashmi Ravindra Pal, was arrested from Daman, while the male suspect, A.K. Singh, a former Subedar in the Indian Army, was apprehended in Goa. ATS claims that both suspects were transmitting classified and sensitive information to Pakistani agents, potentially compromising national security.
Investigation Underway
During the operation, ATS seized various electronic devices from the suspects, which are now being analyzed to trace the extent of their espionage activities. Officials stated that a detailed press briefing will be held at 1 PM to disclose further information about the items recovered and ongoing investigations. Both suspects are currently being interrogated.
ATS Track Record
This operation adds to Gujarat ATS’s track record of uncovering terror and espionage networks. Earlier, the squad had busted an Al-Qaeda Indian module, arresting three individuals, including a doctor studying MBBS in China, who was reportedly preparing ricin, a deadly poison, for potential terror activities.
