Groom Runs Away with Dancer at Sister’s Wedding in Aligarh, Family and Police on Alert

Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh: A bizarre incident has emerged from Aligarh district, where a groom reportedly ran away with a dancer who had been invited to perform at his sister’s wedding. Both the family and police are now searching for the couple.

Incident Details

According to reports, Bilal, son of Sadiq Ali from Sarai Intazam, Aligarh, got married on 3 December 2025. Two days later, on 5 December, his sister’s wedding took place. A dancer named Sony was invited to perform at the celebration. After her performance ended around midnight, Bilal went to drop her home.

During the journey, a friendship developed between Bilal and Sony, which soon turned into a romantic relationship. The two exchanged phone numbers and, a few days later, absconded together. CCTV footage has now surfaced showing Bilal and Sony at a hotel in Jaipur.

Family Concerns

Bilal’s family has been searching for him since the incident but could not locate the couple. They filed a missing person report at Gandhi Park police station. According to the family, Sony is from Shahjmal and allegedly involved in a prior murder case, where her previous boyfriend’s body was discovered buried last year. The family fears for Bilal’s safety and have demanded urgent police action to recover him.

Wife Speaks Out

Bilal’s wife, Gulistan, who married him on 3 December 2025, shared her anguish with the media. She said that after the sister’s wedding, Bilal became increasingly secretive and argumentative at home. Checking his phone, she discovered his communication with Sony. “I fear for my husband’s life. I don’t know how many crimes she may have committed before or where she has taken him,” she said, urging the police to act immediately.

The Gandhi Park police are actively investigating the matter and tracking the couple, with CCTV footage providing a lead in Jaipur.
