Greater Noida: Woman Arrested After Heated Dispute Over Pet Dog Defecation Goes Viral

Greater Noida, UP: A woman has been arrested in Greater Noida following a viral video showing her verbally abusing residents after her pet dog defecated in a parking area. The incident occurred at Amrapali Golf Homes and Kings Wood Society, where a dispute over public cleanliness escalated into a confrontation.

According to police, the incident took place near Tower-J in the Minus One parking area. A woman was walking her pet dog when another resident, along with a male companion, politely objected to the dog soiling the public space and requested that she walk the dog outside the complex. The dog owner allegedly became agitated, picked up her pet, and began hurling obscene and offensive language at the residents.

The entire episode was captured on video and circulated widely on social media, prompting swift action by Bisrakh Kotwali Police. The residents lodged a formal complaint, citing public disturbance and abusive behavior. Police confirmed that a case was registered against the woman for using offensive language and disrupting public peace, and she was taken into custody.

Authorities noted that such behavior is unacceptable, especially given existing regulations regarding pet management. Despite the implementation of a strict “Dog Policy” by the Greater Noida Authority, including Supreme Court advisories to prevent pet-related disputes, compliance remains inconsistent.

Residents have voiced concerns over increasing incidents of dog attacks and public nuisance within societies. Narendra Kumar, AO of Palm Olympia Society in Greater Noida West, said the dog policy has largely remained ineffective, with repeated violations and unresolved complaints. Resident Abhishek Vaishya highlighted that the growing presence of stray and pet dogs, including feeding points inside complexes, poses risks to children and the elderly.
