Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh: The Excise Department of Greater Noida has announced significant changes in liquor-related regulations, making it easier and more affordable to host private alcohol parties at home. As per the new rules, the one-day license fee for a home party has been reduced from ₹4,000 to just ₹1,000.
The decision, implemented under government directives, has come as a relief to residents planning private celebrations. Earlier, obtaining a one-day license involved paying ₹4,000, but the revised regulations now allow residents to host legal home liquor parties at a quarter of the previous cost.
For events held at banquet halls, farmhouses, or restaurants, a three-day license will now cost ₹11,000. Alongside this, stricter guidelines have been introduced for serving alcohol in restaurants. Restaurant owners can now charge a minimum of 20% above the bottle price for alcohol served on-premises, aligning the system more closely with bar and club practices.
District Excise Officer Subodh Kumar Srivastava emphasized that all liquor vendors must display a rate chart to prevent overcharging customers. Additionally, the Excise Department has launched toll-free numbers (9454465654 and 14405) for complaints regarding overpricing or other irregularities, and action will be taken against violators.
This move is expected to make hosting private parties more accessible while ensuring transparency and regulation in commercial liquor services.
