Greater Noida: B.Tech Student Dies by Suicide After Jumping from 20th Floor of Residential Society

Greater Noida | February 21, 2026: A 23-year-old B.Tech final-year student allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the 20th floor of the Paramount Golf Foreste Society in Greater Noida on Friday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Arjun Tomar, a resident of Baghpat district.

Arjun was a final-year engineering student at Mangalmay Group of Institutions. According to police officials, no suicide note was recovered from the spot, and the exact reason behind the extreme step remains unclear.

Incident Details

Police said that Arjun arrived at the society premises on his motorcycle shortly before the incident. After parking the bike, he reportedly took the lift to the 21st floor and then used the staircase to reach the 20th floor, from where he jumped.

Residents present in the lift stated that he appeared visibly distressed. Upon receiving information, police officials rushed to the scene, took custody of the body, and informed the family based on documents found with him.

Investigation Underway

Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage to determine how the student accessed the studio apartment area without undergoing a security check. Security personnel are being questioned, and the society management is also cooperating with investigators.

The body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Officials confirmed that no suicide note was found at the scene. The student had reportedly left his mobile phone at home; however, a slip of paper containing his father’s phone number was recovered from his pocket.

Family Background

Arjun’s father, Harendra Singh, works at a chemical factory near Site-C in Surajpur. The family resides in the Kotwali area and also owns a house in Gamma Sector. He is survived by his parents and a younger brother.

Kotwali in-charge Vinod Kumar stated that further legal action will be taken based on the post-mortem report and any formal complaint submitted by the family.

Police continue to investigate all possible angles surrounding the incident.
