Gorakhpur: A horrifying incident of child abuse has come to light in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. An eight-year-old girl attending a wedding with her grandmother was brutally assaulted by a 22-year-old man, leaving her bleeding before he fled the scene. The victim was immediately hospitalized, and the accused has been arrested following a police complaint.
Incident Details
The incident took place on Friday night in the Pipraich police station area. The girl, accompanied by her grandmother, was attending a wedding ceremony when she suddenly went missing around 11:00 PM. After failing to locate her nearby, family members and relatives searched the area and found the girl lying injured near a bush about 200 meters from the venue.
She was rushed to the local Community Health Center (CHC) by police. Seeing her critical condition, doctors referred her to the medical college for further treatment.
Investigation and Arrest
Police investigation, aided by CCTV footage and drone surveillance at the wedding, revealed that the girl was taken by a 22-year-old local man, identified as Ashok Nishad, also known as “Tuntun.” He was immediately taken into custody for questioning.
CO Campierganj Anurag Singh confirmed that police received the complaint at 3:40 AM on Saturday and promptly took action. The accused is currently under interrogation, and further legal proceedings will follow. Authorities have assured strict action against the perpetrator once the investigation is complete.
