Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh: In a shocking incident that has left local families stunned, a 35-year-old woman reportedly eloped with her 15-year-old nephew in Gorakhpur. The minor is a ninth-grade student, while his parents reside in the village and his uncle works outside the town. The aunt, who lives locally, allegedly developed a romantic relationship with her nephew, leading to the alarming elopement.
The pair went missing on January 26, prompting family members to file a missing person complaint at the PPganj police station. Authorities soon located both individuals within the city and took them into custody. During questioning, the aunt and nephew claimed that they intended to marry. After extensive discussions and persuasion from both family members and police, they eventually agreed to return home.
Police confirmed that no formal complaints or legal petitions have been filed by either side. Both families—the boy’s parents and the aunt’s relatives—were called to the police station to resolve the matter.
The incident has raised concerns about relationships involving minors and highlights the urgent need for awareness regarding legal and social boundaries.
