Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan: Wildlife enthusiasts have a reason to celebrate as young tigress T-2307 of the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve has given birth to three healthy cubs, expanding the tiger family in the reserve. Forest Minister Sanjay Sharma confirmed the news, sharing it on his official social media handles, which has sparked joy across the state.
Cubs Captured on Camera Traps
According to forest officials, the birth took place in the Kundera Range of Ranthambore. During recent patrols, forest staff spotted the tigress with her cubs for the first time, but concrete evidence was lacking. However, photo trap cameras installed by the forest department have now captured T-2307 with all three cubs, officially confirming the birth.
First-Time Mother, Offspring of Legendary Tigers
T-2307, approximately four years old, is the daughter of the renowned tigress T-111 and tiger T-121. This is her first litter, marking a significant milestone for the young tigress. Her current territory spans Bawadi Tiraha, Bairda, and Lahpur cell areas within the Kundera Range.
The forest department has increased monitoring and tracking to ensure the safety of the tigress and her cubs. The addition of three new cubs strengthens the tiger population in Ranthambore, highlighting Rajasthan’s successful wildlife conservation efforts.
