Ghazipur Bank Cashier Dies of Heart Attack While Sleeping Inside Branch Premises

Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh — A heartbreaking incident has come to light from Ghazipur, where Tribhuvan Sharma (54), a cashier posted at the District Cooperative Bank Limited, died of a suspected heart attack while sleeping inside the bank premises on Friday night. Sharma, a resident of Chhadipur village under Karanda police station area, had been serving as a cashier at the branch for the past three years.

According to ADO (Cooperative) Vidyaprakash Srivastava, Sharma routinely stayed overnight inside the bank after finishing his duties. On Friday, he completed his work as usual and went to sleep. However, when he did not wake up until around 8 am on Saturday, the bank’s cook, Pawan Gond, called out to him from outside the gate but received no response. Pawan then tried to wake him by tapping the grill with a stick, but even that failed to elicit any reaction.

Sensing trouble, the owner of the building in which the bank operates immediately informed the branch manager and Sharma’s family. Branch Manager Suryajit Yadav reached the spot and opened the bank using his spare keys. Inside, Sharma was found lying motionless on the bed. A private doctor was called in, who declared him dead upon examination, citing a preliminary cause of heart attack.

By the time the family members arrived, they chose to take the body back to their native village Chhadipur without informing the police. Maradah SHO Tarawati stated that the police had not received any official information about the incident. Sources indicate that Sharma had been unwell for some time and was undergoing treatment for an unspecified illness, though the exact medical condition remains unknown.

Sharma’s sudden demise has left the local banking fraternity and villagers shocked.
