Ghaziabad’s Harnandipuram Township: GDA Acquires Farmer Land at Four Times Market Rate, Satellite Survey Underway

Ghaziabad, UP – The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) is leaving no stone unturned in its ambitious plan to develop the new Harnandipuram Township, with an estimated investment of ₹1,200 crore. The project involves acquiring 336 hectares of land from farmers, and the authority is offering compensation four times higher than the prevailing circle rates to ensure smooth acquisition. Notably, the land is being purchased directly through mutual consent with farmers, rather than through coercion.

The township development will require land from eight villages, with Nagla Firoz Mohanpur commanding the highest rates. Farmers in this village are being compensated at ₹7,200 per square meter. So far, around 55 hectares of land have been officially transferred to the GDA, while the acquisition process for an additional 115 hectares is ongoing.

Massive Investment for Township Development

According to GDA Vice Chairman Nand Kishore Kalal, the authority is prepared to spend ₹1,200 crore on acquiring land and developing the Harnandipuram Township. Of this, ₹400 crore has been requested from the government under the Chief Minister’s Urban Expansion Scheme to avoid funding delays. The first phase of the project aims to develop 350 hectares, with 336 hectares sourced from farmers alone.

Satellite Survey to Guide Planning

To expedite the project, the GDA has initiated a satellite survey of the area to map the land accurately. Based on the survey data, detailed layouts and township plans will be finalized, ensuring that the project is executed with precision and efficiency.
