
Ghaziabad: In a shocking incident from Modinagar, Ghaziabad, a domestic dispute over food turned violent when a woman allegedly cut off her husband’s tongue with a kitchen knife. The husband, identified as Vipin (26), is in critical condition and has been admitted to Subharti Hospital in Meerut. Doctors have expressed uncertainty about whether he will be able to speak again.
Incident Details
Vipin, who works in a local factory, lives with his mother, Geeta, and wife, Isha. The couple, married in March last year, reportedly got into an argument over dinner on Monday night around 11 PM. According to Geeta, she initially stayed out of the dispute, thinking the couple would resolve it themselves.
However, the altercation escalated around 1 AM when Isha allegedly took a kitchen knife and attacked Vipin, severing his tongue. She then reportedly threw the severed tongue onto the bed.
Immediate Response
Bloodied and in severe pain, Vipin ran to his mother for help. Shocked by the sight, she immediately arranged for his transfer to Jeevan Hospital in Modinagar, and from there he was referred to Subharti Hospital in Meerut due to the critical nature of his injuries. Surgeons have stated that the outcome of the operation will determine whether Vipin will regain his ability to speak.
Public Reaction
The following morning, news of the incident spread quickly, drawing a large crowd. Enraged locals reportedly dragged Isha out of her home and beat her, an act that was captured on video and circulated widely. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. SHO Modinagar confirmed that strict legal action will be taken based on the family’s complaint.
This disturbing incident has raised serious concerns about domestic violence and the safety of women and men in household disputes.
