Ghaziabad to Get Relief from Traffic Jams: Delhi–Meerut Expressway Bottleneck Set to End, MLA Inspects Project

Ghaziabad: Commuters near Vijaynagar and Crossing Republic on the Delhi–Meerut Expressway can expect relief from long-standing traffic jams soon. MLA Sanjeev Sharma conducted an on-site inspection of the widening project, which aims to eliminate the bottleneck causing hours-long delays.

Project Details
The road expansion project, costing approximately ₹24 crore, has now commenced on the ground with a target completion date of 31 March 2026. MLA Sanjeev Sharma has been closely monitoring the work, ensuring that officials adhere to quality and safety standards. During his inspection, he issued strict directives to prevent any negligence in construction.

Bottleneck Relief and Public Safety
The stretch near Vijaynagar and Crossing Republic has long been a source of daily frustration for drivers, with narrow lanes causing severe congestion during peak hours and frequent accidents. Recognizing the problem, MLA Sharma raised the issue with Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, after which approval for road widening was granted.

Execution and Timeline
The project has been assigned to Message Appco Infratech Private Limited. During the inspection, engineers were instructed to complete the work within the set timeframe to provide prompt relief to commuters. Once completed, the project is expected to not only ease traffic congestion but also reduce road accidents, making travel smoother for millions of passengers heading toward Delhi.

The inspection was attended by Crossing Mandal President Dharmendra Chaudhary, City Mandal President Mahima Gupta, Cooperative President Sandeep Pal, and other officials.
