Ghaziabad Teen Threatens to Jump from Four-Storey Building; Firefighters Rescue Her

Ghaziabad | February 3: A major tragedy was averted in Ghaziabad’s Khoda area on Tuesday morning when a 16-year-old girl climbed to the roof of a four-storey building and threatened to jump. Quick action by fire personnel prevented the incident from turning fatal.

According to Chief Fire Officer Rahul Pal, the emergency call came around 4 a.m. to the Vaishali Fire Station control room, reporting that a girl had climbed atop a water tank near Lal Mandir in Khoda and was threatening to end her life. The fire service immediately dispatched a disaster response team and van to the scene.

On arrival, firefighters found the girl perched on the tank, refusing to come down despite attempts by neighbors to persuade her. She even made multiple attempts to jump.

Assessing the situation, firefighters Vinay Yadav, Ayushman, and Vikas carefully reached the girl via an adjacent roof. After tense efforts and continuous dialogue, they successfully brought her down safely. The teenager was then handed over to her family. Khoda police were also present during the operation.

The swift and coordinated response of the fire team prevented what could have been a tragic incident.
