Ghaziabad: Pinky Chaudhary, Accused in Sword Distribution Case, Released from Jail with Son; Supporters Create Ruckus

Ghaziabad: Controversial figure Pinky Chaudhary and his son Daksh were released from Ghaziabad jail on Thursday, triggering scenes of chaos outside the prison as their supporters gathered in large numbers to celebrate the release. Loud sloganeering, fireworks, and traffic violations followed, creating fresh challenges for the local police.

According to sources associated with the Hindu Raksha Dal, both Pinky Chaudhary and his son had been granted bail by the court a day earlier. However, due to a delay in receiving the official release warrant at the jail, their release was postponed until Thursday morning.

Supporters Defy Law and Traffic Rules

From early morning, supporters began assembling outside the jail. As soon as Pinky Chaudhary and his son stepped out, they were surrounded by followers who garlanded them, distributed sweets, raised slogans, and burst firecrackers.

A long convoy of vehicles accompanied them from the jail premises. Videos circulating widely on social media show supporters leaning out of moving cars, honking continuously, and shouting slogans, openly flouting traffic and safety norms. The spectacle caused inconvenience to commuters and raised serious questions about crowd control and law enforcement preparedness.

Case Linked to Sword Distribution

The case dates back to December 29, when Pinky Chaudhary and his supporters allegedly set up a stall on a public road in the Shalimar Garden area and went door-to-door distributing swords, claiming it was for the protection of Hindus. Acting on information, the police raided the spot, arrested 10 activists of the Hindu Raksha Dal, and recovered a large number of swords.

Pinky Chaudhary and his son had absconded at the time.

Videos Challenging the Administration

While on the run, Pinky Chaudhary released two videos on social media. In these videos, he justified the distribution of swords as a “necessary step” for Hindu protection and openly challenged the police administration over the arrest of his associates.

Last week, police traced and arrested Pinky Chaudhary and his son from Wazirabad, after which they were sent to judicial custody. Their release on bail in the same case has now reignited debate over public order and enforcement.

Questions Over Law and Order

The show of strength during Pinky Chaudhary’s release once again put the spotlight on law-and-order management in Ghaziabad. Residents reported traffic disruption and inconvenience during the convoy, while opposition voices questioned how such public displays were allowed despite clear violations.

Authorities have said they are reviewing the viral videos and examining possible action against those who broke traffic and public safety laws during the celebrations.
