Ghaziabad: Major Accident on NH-9 as Passenger Bus Overturns, 12 Injured

Ghaziabad: A major road accident took place early Thursday morning on NH-9 near Hitech College, when a private passenger bus travelling from Haldwani to Delhi lost control, rammed into the service-road divider and overturned. Around a dozen passengers sustained injuries in the mishap.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred as the bus attempted to climb onto the Wave City flyover. The vehicle suddenly went out of control and hit the divider with great force, causing it to overturn. A total of 41 passengers were on board.

Following the incident, teams from Dial-112, Wave City Police Station, and Masuri Police Station reached the spot immediately. With the help of local commuters, all injured passengers were rescued from the overturned bus. Police confirmed that 12 passengers, including several women, suffered injuries. They were rushed to the District Combined Hospital for treatment, where the condition of two victims is reported to be critical.

ACP Wave City, Priya Shripal, stated that the driver admitted the accident occurred due to a momentary doze. He lost control of the bus while attempting to drive onto the highway, leading to the collision with the divider and subsequent overturning.

The injured passengers include Mohammad Armaan, Gurmeet, Khajur Singh, Anjana, Pinky, Baljit Kumar, Ramkesh, Gaurav, Saddam, Pintu Bhati, Hemant Kumar, and Maasi. Police arranged alternate vehicles to safely transport the uninjured passengers to their respective destinations.
