Ghaziabad: ‘Kalu’ Escapes After Attacking Girl, Outsmarts Municipal Team

Ghaziabad, UP: The menace of stray dogs continues in GH-7 Society, Crossing Republic, Ghaziabad. Recently, a girl was attacked by a pack of stray dogs, during which the most aggressive dog, a black canine named ‘Kalu’, managed to escape the municipal team by jumping over the society’s boundary wall.

Since the incident, residents of the society are living in fear. The Apartment Owners Association (AOA) has urged everyone to immediately report if they spot Kalu in the area.

Attack on School-going Girl
On Wednesday, a girl heading to school was attacked by a pack of stray dogs roaming inside the society. According to locals, the attack was initiated by Kalu. Fortunately, nearby residents managed to rescue the girl, and the incident was reported to the municipal authorities. The next day, the municipal team arrived at the site to take action.

Kalu Escapes During Action
Before the municipal team reached, AOA members had captured two dogs and isolated them. However, during the operation, Kalu proved to be highly violent and evaded capture, jumping over the boundary wall to escape.

Repeated Offender
AOA President Dr. Rohit Choudhary stated that Kalu has previously bitten several people. His escape has caused fear among children and elderly residents, prompting an intensified search and warnings for everyone to stay alert.

Residents Struggle with 60–70 Stray Dogs
During the operation, the municipal team took five dogs for vaccination and sterilization. Residents claim that there are around 60–70 stray dogs in the society, with attacks occurring frequently. Earlier this week, another child had also been bitten by these dogs.

AOA member Sumit Srivastava alleged that despite multiple complaints to the municipal authorities, captured dogs are often released back into the area. He added that the most aggressive dogs frequently manage to avoid capture, continuing to pose a threat to residents.
