Ghaziabad Implements Section 163 Restrictions from Dec 30 to Jan 5: Guidelines for New Year Celebrations

Ghaziabad: As New Year celebrations approach, the Ghaziabad Police have stepped up security to ensure public safety and law and order. Strict guidelines have been issued under Section 163, effective from 30 December to 5 January, to prevent hooliganism, reckless stunts, and public disturbances.

Party Timings and Restrictions
Authorities have mandated that all New Year’s Eve parties at malls, clubs, restaurants, hotels, bars, and other public venues will end by 1 AM. Any violations after this time, including disorderly conduct or drunken behavior, will result in immediate police action. Key intersections and crowded areas will be barricaded, and surveillance will be conducted to monitor compliance.

Enforcement and Responsibilities
Additional CP Law and Order Alok Priyadarshi emphasized that city-wide parties require meticulous planning by organizers. Event operators are instructed to:

  • Follow the pre-approved party schedule strictly.
  • Identify all attendees and prevent entry of suspicious individuals.

Control on Sound and Fireworks
The police have also directed organizers to limit the volume of DJs and loudspeakers. Unauthorized loud music or sound systems will prompt immediate action. Fireworks are prohibited during the celebrations. To ensure women’s safety, the Anti-Romeo Squad will conduct continuous patrols.

Parking and Traffic Rules
Parking operators in crowded areas have been instructed to deny entry to vehicles without proper verification. Any suspicious, unregistered, or undocumented vehicles must be reported to police at 112 immediately. Violations of traffic rules or police directives will attract fines and strict action under Section 223A of the BNS.

Police Appeal to Citizens
Authorities have urged residents to celebrate the New Year responsibly, adhering to rules and maintaining peace and safety. Any attempt to disrupt law and order will not be tolerated.
