Ghaziabad DM Orders Repair of 83 Pothole-Ridden Roads Within 30 Days, Warns Departments of Accountability

Ghaziabad: The administration in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, has taken a strict stance on the city’s deteriorating roads. Following the identification of 83 damaged and pothole-filled locations, District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar Mandad has issued a 30-day deadline to concerned departments to complete all necessary repairs. He warned that any accidents resulting from neglected roads will be the direct responsibility of the respective department.

During a meeting with officials on Wednesday, the DM emphasized that negligence in repair work will not be tolerated. Officers were instructed to personally inspect sites to ensure high-quality repairs and safe, smooth travel for the public.

Allocation of Responsibilities

The administration has distributed responsibilities across various departments:

  • Public Works Department (PWD): 20 roads
  • Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation: 26 roads
  • UPCIDDA: 5 locations
  • Other Municipalities: 26 roads
  • Housing Development Council: 1 location
  • Ghaziabad Development Authority: 5 locations

Officials reported that tendering processes have been completed in many areas, and work has already commenced at some sites. Repair work at remaining locations will begin shortly.

The DM also directed special attention to areas with a higher risk of accidents, insisting on the implementation of necessary safety measures. Immediate action on public complaints was also ordered. ADM City Development Kashyap and officials from all relevant departments assured coordinated efforts to make Ghaziabad pothole-free.
