Gehlot Questions Rajyavardhan Rathore’s Claims, Demands Probe into Two Years of Recruitment Exams

Jaipur, Rajasthan: Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has demanded a thorough investigation into the recruitment examinations conducted in 2024 and 2025 following revelations of an OMR sheet scandal at the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSMSSB). The call comes after several employees linked to the scam were arrested, raising serious concerns about the credibility of the state’s recruitment process.

Gehlot’s Criticism of BJP Government
Gehlot sharply criticized the current BJP-led state government, highlighting systemic irregularities in the Staff Selection Board. In a post on the social media platform X, he noted that the OMR sheet manipulation scandal casts doubts over the fairness of exams conducted under the same staff and system. According to the Special Operations Group (SOG) report, the malpractice reportedly continued from 2018 to 2026, indicating a deeply concerning trend.

“Same Staff, Same System—How Can We Trust the Exams?”
Gehlot pointed out that the employees implicated in the recent scandal were active and posted on the board during the 2024 and 2025 recruitment exams. Therefore, he argued, the integrity of those exams is now questionable. He also highlighted concerns raised by candidates regarding unusually high cut-offs in recent years, which have fueled doubts about the process.

Demand for Investigation and Reference to Past Congress Action
The former CM urged the state government to initiate a comprehensive investigation into all recruitment exams held in 2024 and 2025, emphasizing the need to safeguard the future of the youth. He recalled that under the previous Congress government, strict laws were enacted to curb paper leaks, including life imprisonment, seizure of assets, and fines up to ₹10 crore. Gehlot added that the Special Operations Group had conducted over 250 arrests during Congress rule, with properties of paper-leak mafias confiscated.

“Justice Must Prevail, Whoever the Culprit”
Gehlot emphasized that the Congress government never allowed politics to interfere with justice. He highlighted that, where necessary, strict measures such as canceling exams were taken in the interest of candidates. He concluded that irrespective of whether the state is governed by Congress or BJP, anyone involved in malpractices must face strict punishment under the new stringent laws to ensure justice.
