Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh: The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has intensified its crackdown on illegal colonies and unauthorized constructions, in line with the Yogi government’s stringent policies against illegal land development in Uttar Pradesh. Residents have been warned not to purchase plots in colonies that lack GDA approval.
Bulldozer Action in Muradnagar
A joint team of GDA officials and police carried out demolition operations on two illegally established colonies in Muradnagar. The enforcement Zone-2 team acted in the villages of Sarna and Jalalpur-Raghunathpur.
The first demolition targeted a colony spanning approximately 20,000 square meters (20 bighas), while the second operation focused on an illegal development of around 5,000 square meters (5 bighas) in Chatarpal. Authorities reported that the colonizers had constructed roads, boundary walls, and site offices without obtaining any sanctioned plans or permissions. All unauthorized structures were demolished during the operation.
Resistance and Warnings
The operations faced considerable resistance from local residents, but the GDA and police teams continued their work undeterred. Previous warnings and bulldozer actions in Muradnagar had failed to deter illegal constructions, prompting the latest strict measures. Officials reiterated that citizens should avoid purchasing plots in colonies that are not approved by the GDA.
This move underscores the government’s commitment to curbing illegal urban development and enforcing lawful land use in Uttar Pradesh.
