Gautam Gambhir Visits Maa Baglamukhi Temple Ahead of Indore ODI, Performs Special ‘Havan’ for Team India’s Victory

Indore: Indian cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir showcased his devotion on Friday morning by visiting the renowned Maa Baglamukhi Temple in Nalkheda, Agar-Malwa, ahead of the decisive One Day International (ODI) against New Zealand in Indore.

Gambhir spent approximately an hour at the temple, performing formal rituals in the sanctum sanctorum, including a special ‘havan’ (sacred fire ceremony). The prayers were aimed at seeking divine blessings for India’s victory and the nation’s prosperity.

The temple, known for its historical significance dating back to the Dwapar Yuga and revered as the goddess of triumph over enemies, welcomed the cricket coach with traditional rituals. Priests conducted the pooja while chanting mantras, and Gambhir actively participated in the ceremonial proceedings.

Devotees present at the temple were excited to catch a glimpse of the cricketing stalwart, and local authorities maintained heightened security to ensure smooth proceedings. The temple priests also briefed Gambhir on the historical and spiritual significance of Maa Baglamukhi.

In addition to the havan, Gambhir witnessed the Bhasma Aarti of Lord Mahakal, further emphasizing his devotional spirit during the visit. This gesture reflects the coach’s belief in spiritual support and is seen as an auspicious start before the critical encounter in Indore.
