Gautam Buddha University Student Dies After Jumping From Hostel Roof; No Suicide Note Found

Greater Noida, UP: A shocking incident unfolded at Gautam Buddha University (GBU) in Greater Noida, where a second-year BA student, Dheeraj Tiwari, jumped from the roof of his hostel, resulting in his death. The university authorities immediately informed the Ecotech-1 Police Station, and the injured student was rushed to JIMS Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Details of the Incident
The deceased, Dheeraj Tiwari, aged 30, was a resident of Sonipat, Haryana, and was pursuing a BA in Psychology at GBU. He was staying at the Ramsharan Das Hostel on campus. According to preliminary police reports, Dheeraj jumped from the hostel roof for reasons yet unknown. The initial investigation suggests that the incident appears to be a case of suicide.

Investigation Underway
Police teams were deployed to the site to collect evidence, and the body was sent for post-mortem examination. On Thursday morning, the post-mortem was conducted in the presence of the deceased’s family, after which the body was handed over to them.

No Suicide Note Found
Arvind Verma, In-Charge of Ecotech-1 Police Station, confirmed that no suicide note was recovered from the scene. The police are continuing their investigation to determine the reasons behind the tragic incident. Further action will be based on the family’s statements and the results of the ongoing inquiry.
