Chandigarh, Punjab: Notorious gangster Goldy Brar has reportedly issued a threat to the Punjab Police following the arrest of his parents. The arrest, made in connection with extortion cases, has reportedly enraged Brar, leading to a leaked audio clip in which he allegedly addresses the Punjab government and police directly.
Audio Clip Details:
The clip, which is undergoing forensic verification by authorities, reportedly features a man claiming to be Goldy Brar. He criticizes the police and government for failing to apprehend him, stating that in retaliation, his elderly parents were targeted. According to the audio, his parents were arrested while visiting the Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib) for darshan. Brar further warns that his criminal network is not confined to Punjab, but extends nationally and internationally.
In the clip, Brar reportedly says, “If you have the courage, confront me directly. Despite using all agencies and police resources, you couldn’t catch me. Now you have targeted my elderly mother and father at Harmandir Sahib. You are limited to Punjab, but we are spread across the world.”
The audio emerged on the same day an FIR was filed against Brar in Mohali, following the daylight killing of a remand prisoner outside the DIG and SSP offices. The deceased, Gurvinder Singh, was accused in the 2020 murder of Brar’s cousin, Gurlal Brar. Following the killing, Goldy Brar reportedly claimed on social media that the act was revenge for Gurlal’s murder.
Police Response:
Punjab Police officials stated that the audio includes serious threats, including the claim of killing one person every day, and that the matter is being treated with utmost seriousness. Officials emphasized that a technical investigation is underway to verify the authenticity of the clip and that law enforcement will take strict action against anyone attempting to undermine law and order. The police reaffirmed their commitment that no threat or intimidation will be tolerated.
