Shamli, Uttar Pradesh: A video of notorious Shamli gangster Firoz Khan has gone viral on social media, creating a stir among police, administration, and the public. In the video, Khan levels serious allegations against senior police officers, claiming that a ₹1 crore contract had been taken for his encounter. He further warned that if alleged harassment continues, he may be forced to take his own life.
Background of the Controversy
About a week ago, authorities seized Khan’s assets worth approximately ₹30 crore under the Gangster Act. During the seizure, notice boards were placed on the confiscated properties. Following this action, Khan’s video emerged, in which he appeals for protection and justice.
Claims of Illegal Action and Harassment
In the video, Firoz Khan claims that the Gangster Act was falsely applied against him. He asserts that the Allahabad High Court has issued a stay on his arrest in the case, yet police allegedly ignored the order and seized his property, deliberately flouting court directives.
Allegations of Encounter Plot
Khan named a DIG from another division and claimed that a contract of ₹1 crore had been paid for his encounter. He also alleged multiple previous attempts on his life had failed. He further accused police personnel of openly threatening him, stating that the court’s orders would be disregarded and he would be “pinned against the wall” at the first opportunity.
Warning of Self-Harm
Khan warned that if harassment continued, he might be compelled to commit suicide—but emphasized that this would not be an act of despair, rather his last resort to seek accountability from officials. The video shows a rope tied to the ceiling, pamphlets alleging harassment on the walls, and copies of the stay orders he claims were ignored.
Police Response
Shamli SP N.P. Singh responded to the allegations, stating that if Khan possesses any verified court order staying his arrest, it should be presented to the investigating officer or relevant office as per procedure. Singh added that the viral video appears to be an attempt by Khan to mislead the public and gain sympathy.
