Ganga Expressway to Connect with Yamuna Expressway: Land Acquisition from 56 Villages Underway, Route Details Revealed

In a major infrastructure initiative aimed at strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s expressway network, work has begun on a 74.3-kilometer link expressway connecting the Ganga Expressway with the Yamuna Expressway. The ambitious project will pass through 56 villages across Gautam Buddh Nagar and Bulandshahr districts, with an estimated cost of ₹4,000 crore.

Project Details and Land Acquisition

According to R.K. Singh, CEO of Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), 16 villages within the YEIDA jurisdiction, covering approximately 740 acres, will be acquired to construct this 20-kilometer section, which includes around 9 km of elevated expressway. The land acquisition process is expected to begin in January 2026. The Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPIDA) will oversee the construction of the entire link expressway.

The link expressway will start at the 44.3 km point of Ganga Expressway in Bulandshahr’s Siana region and connect to the 24.8 km point of Yamuna Expressway near Sector-21, Film City, Noida. Besides connecting the two expressways, this route will provide direct access to Noida International Airport and enhance regional connectivity.

Villages Affected

The project spans 48 villages in Bulandshahr district and 8 villages in Gautam Buddh Nagar. Key villages in Gautam Buddh Nagar include Mehandipur Bangar, Bhaipur Brahmanan, Rabupura, Bhunnatga, Myana, Fazilpur, and Kallupura. Villages in Bulandshahr and Siana Tehsils include Amanullapur, Inayatpur, Kapna, Bhagwanpur, Hasanpur Laduki, Bighepur, Sanaita Shafipur, among others. The construction will also include service roads within the YEIDA region to improve local transportation for residents.

Connectivity and Economic Impact

Once completed, the link expressway will significantly improve connectivity between Delhi-NCR and western Uttar Pradesh, allowing smoother travel from Meerut to Agra via the Ganga-Yamuna expressway corridor. It will also enhance accessibility to the Noida International Airport and integrate with the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, facilitating faster movement for both domestic and international travelers.

Additionally, the link expressway will connect industrial sectors 28, 29, 32, and 33 in Yamuna City, promoting industrial growth, investment, and employment opportunities in the region.

This strategic infrastructure project is expected to accelerate regional development, boost industrial activity, and provide faster and more efficient connectivity for travelers across Uttar Pradesh and beyond.
