Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: The construction of the 594-kilometre-long Ganga Expressway from Meerut to Prayagraj is almost complete, promising to cut travel time between the two cities from 10–12 hours to just 6 hours. The project will pass through 12 districts — Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Hardoi, Shahjahanpur, Unnao, Raebareli, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj — significantly enhancing connectivity across Uttar Pradesh.

According to UP Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) officials, the construction is in its final stages, with trial runs scheduled soon. The expressway includes 1,498 major structures across its length, ensuring state-of-the-art infrastructure for commuters.

  • Phase 4: ₹2,099 crore by Adani Enterprises

The project also includes plans to link the expressway with Jewar International Airport, benefiting travelers from Delhi and improving access to the national capital region. The state government has allocated ₹1,246 crore in the supplementary budget for expressway connectivity and ₹1,865 crore specifically for the Ganga Expressway.
