Raj Chauhan, originally from Bedaai village in Hathras, lived on rent in Trans Yamuna Colony. Known for his flamboyant and aggressive demeanor, Chauhan had been released on bail on December 2. He was engaged in an ongoing power struggle with a rival gang.

The Fatal Incident
On Friday, Raj Chauhan was celebrating with friends on the fourth floor of SN Homestay on Jalesar Road. Around 10 PM, about half a dozen men from a rival gang arrived at his room, sparking a confrontation. During the clash, the rival gang opened fire. Gang Rivalry Behind the Murder
The conflict reportedly involved Monu Yadav’s gang. Earlier, Chauhan had clashed with one of Monu Yadav’s associates, Kali Yadav, injuring him and even opening fire in a previous altercation. Chauhan’s ongoing rivalry was reportedly fueled by attempts to assert dominance and engage in violent bravado.

Police Investigation Underway
DCP City Ali Abbas confirmed that Chauhan was killed during the party following an argument. Police recovered multiple empty cartridges of a .312 bore gun from the scene. CCTV footage is being examined to identify the assailants. Witnesses claimed that during the shooting, Chauhan’s friends fled, and the attackers reportedly shouted, “This is your fate.”

Family in Shock
Upon receiving the news, Chauhan’s mother rushed to the hospital in distress, attempting to confront the attackers before being restrained by police.

Criminal Background
After his release from jail, Chauhan and his friends had held a celebratory procession on the streets, for which a case was registered against 10 individuals at New Agra Police Station. Chauhan was also named in a case concerning his grandfather’s murder.
