From Viral Video to Charter Plane: MLA IP Gupta Sets His Sights on Delhi

Patna, Bihar: IP Gupta, the sole legislator from Saharsa representing the Indian Inclusive Party and its national president, is making waves both in political corridors and on social media. The MLA recently grabbed headlines after a reel video featuring him and his sister-in-law went viral. Now, he has unveiled his plans for nationwide political expansion.

Viral Video and the Battle of Perception
Responding to the viral reel and the criticism it generated, Gupta candidly stated that public figures also have a personal life. “I see nothing wrong in making a reel with my sister-in-law,” he said, adding humorously that the video has even provided him with a candidate who could contest elections anywhere in Bihar. On allegations of nepotism, he remarked, “In Indian politics, what is visible is what sells. This is a battle of perception.”

Organizational Overhaul and Nationwide Ambitions
Gupta has dissolved all national and state committees of his party and the All India Paan Federation, citing the need for a fresh expansion with new members post-elections. His focus now extends beyond Bihar, aiming to unite the Paan, Tanti, Tetva, Koli, and Kori communities across India.

He plans to begin a nationwide tour using chartered flights to connect with his communities in different states. His party will field candidates in the upcoming local body elections in Uttar Pradesh in 2026. A major meeting with the Koli community in Maharashtra is scheduled for 18 January 2026, followed by preparations for a large national convention in Patna, Gujarat, or Assam.

Eyes on Delhi
Gupta highlighted that the sub-castes of his community number around 180–200 million nationwide. Citing the proud histories of the Kalita community in Assam and the Koli community in Maharashtra, he asserted that the time has come for his communities to consolidate under his party’s banner and secure representation in legislative assemblies. He made it clear that his sights are now set on Delhi’s political power and Parliament.
