Four Spa Centers Sealed in Meerut for Running Prostitution Racket; 20 Women and 1 Man Detained

Meerut, January 14, 2026: Meerut police on Tuesday evening conducted a major raid across four spa centers in the city, arresting 20 women along with one man. The police uncovered that these establishments were allegedly running prostitution activities under the guise of massage and beauty services.

According to SP City Ayush Bikram Singh, authorities had received persistent complaints and confidential inputs indicating that certain spa centers in the city were operating without valid licenses and engaging in immoral activities. Acting on precise intelligence from an informant, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, under the supervision of SP City and CO Civil Lines Abhishek Tiwari, executed simultaneous raids at multiple locations.

The raids targeted:

  • Roz Water Spa and Avon Spa in Mangalpande Nagar,
  • Meerut Skin Spa at Nandani Plaza on Garh Road,
  • Yuva Family Salon at Shoprix Mall on Delhi Road.

During the operations, police seized objectionable material, registers, and electronic evidence confirming the illegal activities. Investigations revealed that these centers operated without any valid licenses, and client bookings were arranged through social media platforms such as WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger rather than directly at the centers. Mobile phones confiscated from the detained women contained objectionable photos and videos, pointing to the organized nature of the racket.

Among the 20 women detained, four were identified as the operators of the respective spas, allegedly managing the entire network. Additionally, a man was arrested from Nandani Plaza’s spa for further questioning. Registers recovered from the locations contained multiple client names, which are now under investigation.

Cases have been registered against the operators at different police stations: Tabassum of Avon Spa and Pooja Sharma of Roz Water Spa at Medical Police Station, Shaista Nikat of Meerut Skin Spa at Nauchandi Police Station, and Ayesha Khan of Yuva Family Salon at Brahmpuri Police Station. The four operators are currently in police custody, while the remaining 16 women were handed over to their families after questioning.

The Meerut police have assured strict action and continued investigation into the organized prostitution network operating under the facade of wellness centers.
